The GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit returns for its third year, once again at the Royal Institution in London.

The event will take place all day on Thursday, October 2nd, and will conclude with the 2025 Best Places To Work Awards. Early Bird tickets are on sale now and priced at £130 (+ fees).

As with previous years, expect the event to cover all the biggest issues facing HR professionals in today’s turbulent games industry.

Our first confirmed speakers for the event are Sega Europe’s chief people officer Nicky Ormrod and Simon Court and Dan Bobby of Value Partnership, with many more to be announced.

The trio’s talk – ‘SEGA – Recode for Growth’ – will explore how Sega Europe partnered with Value Partnership to forge its future at a challenging moment in its recent history.

“With SEGA Europe at a cross roads in 2023/24, we were faced with the difficult challenge of getting the business back on a positive growth trajectory,” says Ormond. “Rebuilding trust, confidence and clarity about our direction of travel and how to get there – with Japan, our people and each other was the critical first step in our Recode journey.”

Adds Court: “Creating the Recode for Growth transformation at SEGA first and foremost required a change in mindset – to reignite the spirit of SEGA and to focus on what really matters to players, studios, partners and people – the IP. Together we created a new strategy, narrative and cultural framework to both set out the new destination and underpin the journey to get there…”

Simon Court is also the author of the leadership book Founder’s Legacy. A copy of the book will be included with the first 100 ticket purchases for the HR Summit. As documented in the foreword, Court helped transform the mobile game publisher Miniclip from being “a scrappy startup into a more professional company with vertical specialists who could help it transform,” said founder and president Rob Small.

As well as roundtable-style sessions, expect breakout spaces and networking opportunities at the event.

The event is again sponsored by Amiqus. For sponsorship enquiries, contact [email protected].
