A new studio with a specialism in “innovative strategy and simulation games” has launched in Dublin.

Day Off Interactive – which includes Cities: Skylines and Life is Strange alums Karoliina Korppoo (creative director) and Des Gayle (head of production) as part of the founding team – has connected with an “experienced” team across Europe that operates “100% remotely” and works a four-day week, “in keeping with the brand name.”

Whilst the studio was revealed by way of a public announcement today, August 5, the Ireland-based studio has been operating since July 2024.

The studio says it “builds on the legacy of classic genres while pushing the boundaries of modern game design, with a particular emphasis on intelligent, reactive in-game characters.”

Other team members include Colman Humphrey (technical director), Jayne Robinson (fractional marketing director), Ethan Grant (studio director and prodigy owner), and Karl Rabbitt (deputy studio director and designer). The studio says it has also already connected with “key contractors,” too.

Day Off Interactive has chosen not to divulge details of its inaugural project right now, but says a formal announcement of its first game is slated for next month, September 2025.
