EA has finally revealed an early access release date for Skate. The much-anticipated skateboarding game will be releasing on 16th September, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Skate will be free-to-play with cross progression and cross platform play, with paid cosmetics able to be snagged by those willing to fork out some cash for outfits and the like. The early access version will launch with four neighbourhoods to explore. The game is also fully open world and always online, so you and other skaters will be rolling around completing challenges and inevitably falling over together.

As for post-launch support, the game will be receiving seasonal updates which will feature “fresh challenges, cosmetics, music, world updates, and new events”.

With this reveal, there’s still no words on the release date for the iOS and Android version of the game. But at least we’ll all finally be able to try out Skate ourselves after months of info drops and little teases. The game has been playable behind the scenes as part of closed tests, but for the average person it’s remained a mystery.
