Venture capital firm A16Z Speedrun has opened applications for the sixth edition of its startup accelerator.

The 12-week program, which begins next January, provides support for startups including an investment of up to $1 million as well as mentorship and strategic guidance from industry experts.

Applications close on September 28, 2025 with the program starting on January 26, 2026 and culminating in a Demo Day in April.

“We are energised by the success of so many A16Z Speedrun alumni as they redefine what’s possible,” said A16Z principal Josh Lu.

“Each new cohort continues to inspire us with bold ideas and fresh approaches that defy simple categorisation.

Lu added: “As the accelerator continues to expand and evolve, so does the potential for transformative innovation.”

Earlier this year, the program broadened its scope to include startups from technology and entertainment as well as gaming. This includes firms working in fields such as 3D tools, streaming, XR, next-generation entertainment, among others.

A16Z Speedrun launched in 2023, and has funded over 150 startups with more than $180 million.

Its fifth program, which took place during July, saw over 60 companies selected from 14,000 applicants – its largest cohort to date.
