Kojima Productions has announced the Death Stranding World Strand Tour 2 to celebrate the launch of the forthcoming sequel Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

The tour will begin on 8th June in Los Angeles, seemingly timed alongside Summer Game Fest.

From there it will continue across 12 cities around the globe – Tokyo gets to celebrate release day on 26th June, while the London date will be 30th June.

The tour will include special guests and events, but details for each stop will be confirmed later. It’s unclear if Kojima himself will be part of the tour, though he has shared the announcement himself on social media.

The tour dates are as follows:

  • 8th June: Los Angeles
  • 14th June: Sydney
  • 26th June: Tokyo
  • 28th June: Paris
  • 30th June: London
  • 4th July: Seoul
  • 6th July: Taipei
  • 9th July: Hong Kong
  • 23th July: Shanghai
  • August: Riyadh
  • October: São Paulo
  • November: Lucca

Note that this tour is different to the Strands of Harmony concert world tour, which begins in November this year.

I recently went hands-on with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which expands on the gameplay of the original with a big dollop of Metal Gear, while its story is more concisely written.

Kojima also has a concept for future Death Stranding games, though he doesn’t intend to make them himself.

A new limited edition Death Stranding 2 PS5 controller will launch alongside the game.
