Nintendo Switch 2 is now the fastest-selling console in U.S. history, selling 1.6m units during its launch month.
The previous record belonged to Sony, which sold 1.1m units of in November 2013 when the PlayStation 4 launched.
According to further data from Circana, the Nintendo Switch 2 was also June’s best-selling video game hardware in terms of both dollar sales and units sold, although the PS5 remains 2025’s highest-selling console overall.
In turn, this contributed to a boost in hardware, content, and accessory sales in the month of June, jumping 22% year-over-year, with Circana’s executive director, video games, Mat Piscatella confirming both video game hardware and accessories have also reached record highs in June 2025.
