Suda 51 has revealed his next game with studio Grasshopper: Romeo is a Dead Man.

The ultra-violent shooter will see players take the role of FBI investigator Romeo Stargazer, who tracks down wanted criminals across spacetime and battles with both guns and swords.

The game was revealed with a typically stylish trailer, beginning with an animated intro before showing off some particularly gory combat.

“In addition, the title raises questions like ‘Why is Romeo a dead man?'” said Suda 51 afterwards. Intriguing stuff.

The game is coming to PS5 in 2026.

It will follow Suda 51 and Shinji Mikami’s Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, which released last November.

And after 2021’s No More Heroes 3, Suda 51 told Eurogamer he doesn’t know if he’ll touch the series again. At the least, Romeo is a Dead Man is continuing his typical frenetic style.
