NDreams co-founder and former chief people officer Tamsin O’Luanaigh has started a new advisory studio, Wise Cat Strategy.

Wise Cat Strategy aims to provide game studios and businesses with the tools to “strategically foster collaborative, positive, and productive work environments”.

The firm aims to support studios and teams with custom frameworks, tools for talent retention and growth, as well as support for leadership and EDI initiatives.

Wise Cat has partnered with “several emerging studios” from its founding, and will broaden its client portfolio across the UK and Europe over the coming year.

“I’ve witnessed first-hand the positive impact that comes from a commitment to building supportive and transparent people and culture strategies, yet there’s a significant portion of employers in the gaming industry who still lack clear frameworks,” said O’Luanaigh.

“Many recognise the importance of creating an inclusive workspace but have no idea where to even start. Scaling a game studio is rarely linear. People challenges don’t come with neat labels. You might be navigating team burnout, struggling to hire right, or wondering how to scale your culture before it slips away. That’s where Wise Cat comes in.”

O’Luanaigh continued: “We partner with you to diagnose what’s really going on – then design the path forward, and solve the real challenges most game studios face as they grow; with clarity, not chaos.”

Chair of Everplay Group and former non-executive chair of NDreams Frank Sagnier added: “As the co-founder of NDreams almost 20 years ago, Tamsin played a pivotal role in transforming the company from a two-person start-up into a thriving business of 250 employees, culminating in a successful sale to Aonic in 2023.

“She deeply cares about employees well-being and the respect of the environment in a way that sets her apart as a forward-thinker whilst her leadership experience is second to none.”

Sagnier concluded: “With a proven track record of developing effective HR strategies and a strong entrepreneurial background, Tamsin is uniquely equipped to provide outstanding people and consultancy services across all disciplines from start-up to scale-up.

“I have every confidence that any organisation would benefit greatly from her expertise, her vision and her kindness.”
