The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is getting a Hyrule Warriors prequel.


Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment won’t be a Switch 2 launch title, but is coming this winter.


The game will focus on Zelda’s story from Tears of the Kingdom, but with Warriors gameplay against huge hordes of enemies.

In the gameplay reveal, we see Zelda battling with light and time magic


It also has playable Raru (with a light spear) and Mineru (with giant Zonai robots).

Age of Imprisonment follows Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which acted as a prequel to Breath of the Wild.


The game was revealed at today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.
